FAQs

What is a 10Spot?

A 10Spot is like a “digital gift card” that you can send to a friend to redeem at a local merchant.  It works just like real money.

How do I redeem a 10Spot?

When you’re ready to redeem your funds, all you need to do is tap “redeem” in your private profile and show your screen to the merchant.

What can I buy with a 10Spot?

10Spots are as good as cash - you can buy anything you’d like at the merchant.

Can I trade my 10Spot for cash?

No. 10Spots may only be used for goods and services.

How much can I send?

You can send as little as $10 and as much as $250.

Is it safe to send money via 10Spot?

Yes - funds are sent securely via Stripe (one of the largest payment processors in the world).

Does 10Spot take a fee?

No. If you send $10 to a friend, they get $10 to spend at the merchant.

Can I get my money back?

Once the funds are sent, they are the property of the merchant (just like a gift card).

What happens to unredeemed money?

It remains ‘pending’ until it’s redeemed.

I accidentally sent money to the wrong person. What do I do?

Please contact support@10spot.app, and we may be able to fix it.

Why don’t I see my favorite merchant on the map?

Send us a note at support@10spot.app, and we’ll add them to our list to contact!

What should I tip?

We are a local, community-focused app designed to help owner-operated places flourish. Please tip on your whole bill, not just on the amount you paid after the 10Spot was applied.

I don’t see myself going to this place… can I swap my 10Spot out for another place?

Unfortunately not; the money becomes the property of the merchant after you send it, so we can’t send it to another merchant. We recommend treating a friend there instead.

My app isn’t working properly. What do I do?

Please reply to bugs@10spot.app and let us know. Please describe your problem in detail (or send a screenshot) so we can recreate it and squash the bug!
